(In case you havn’t noticed, I’m into a “knitting shawl” phase, and have a boulimia for free patterns, trying to increase a little bit the difficulty of my project.
Knitting that Glam Shells shawl wasn’t too tough, and also, lacy enough to allow me to wear it this summer 🙂
In order to make sure I could wear it in summer, I picked a “PHIL THALASSA” yarn, from Phildar (75% cotton and 25% seacell – 50g = 81m, knitted with needles size 3,5mm). That color’s name is “purple ink”, and I really like the mix of these 2 colors 🙂
First stripes are quite easy, and once you get used to it, it goes quite fast…
and then it goes bigger and bigger….
and that’s when you need a huge amount of patience, when a row is made of more than 200 stitches ! 🙂
and of course, and extra dose of focus when at the very end, you have to start knitting the shell part of that glam shells shawl
But in the end, it looks quite good, and satisfaction is the best award.
Don’t be fooled though: although it looks easy and simple, it is not.
That Glam shells pattern requires a lot of focus when knitting.
as you can see, it is worth it 🙂
Have you tried it already ? which color would you think will fit best ?
